You’ve heard of the increasingly popular Paint & Sip events in which participants enjoy a casual painting lesson along with wine and snacks…Well, Apostrophe Art & The Writers Group is offering an innovative literary equivalent: Sip & Write!
Here’s how it works: You get to choose a writing prompt at the beginning of the session, and you’ll have 45 minutes to respond to it. Then participants will read their work aloud and the group will have the opportunity to offer feedback. Throughout it all, drinks and appetizers will be served and an instructor is available for consultation.
The great thing is that we have writing prompts for fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, so there's sure to be something to inspire you!
Come enjoy a creative atmosphere at our workshops and the opportunity to stretch your writing muscles doing something you may not have tried before—and all in a supportive environment.
Though alcohol will be available, the title of this event is a tongue in cheek reference to writing without letting your inner critic/inhibitions get in the way, and then buckling down and using critical analysis to continue to work. **AA & TWG of course advocates drinking responsibly. Consumption of alcohol is not required to participate.
Please note this is a 21+ over event. We do not bring or serve alcoholic beverages. All alcohol, wine, and spirits will be consume at a feature bar or restaurant of our choice.
Cost is $35 per person and writers of all levels of experience and genres are welcome! Price includes one drink and appetizers.
What to bring: laptop, tablet, or just pen and paper! However you can write best.
